Catalina Island Ferrys
To get to Catalina Islands, you can take the high speed Catamarans (as seen in the graphic to the left). It's a short one hour cruise to the Island. If you wish to stay on the island more than one day, you'll need to find accommodations. Otherwise it will be a day trip. The Catalina Ferrys operate out of Long Beach, Dana Point, and Los Angeles. Dana Point is just a short drive from Oceanside.
Santa Catalina Island has been frequently used in Hollywood film productions. Several Gilligan's Island scenes were shot here back in the late 60's and early 70's.
Catalina Movie Theater

The theatre is 138 feet across and 43 feet high.
