Event organizers and city officials are pleased with the success of the market which is located on section of Tremont Street and Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside, not far from North Coast Village resort complex. Oceanside Beaches Growing
According to a recent study Oceanside beaches are growing due to erosion south of Oceanside. The reports suggests Mission Beach, Torrey Pines City Beach, San Onofre Beach, and Del Mar City beach are eroding several meters per year. According to experts published reports in the the Journal of Coastal Research, the man-made structures on Southern California built to protect the cliffs and bluffs along the San Diego coast are deflecting waves back onto the sand and increasing erosion rates. Surfrider Takes Off: the Visionary Surfers of 1984
Learn more about Oceanside's surfing history through a Video Presentation by founder Glenn Hening at the Oceanside Surf Museum. It will be on the 22nd of July at Celebrating Surfrider's 25th Anniversary. The Oceanside Surfing Museum is within walking distance of North Coast Village and not far from the Oceanside Pier.
